Frequently Asked Questions
Envy Nail
Art represents a special Limited Edition line of my canework for nail artists.
Each cane will be produced in limited quantities,
rarely to be duplicated. Your
customers will appreciate that they will be of the select few to receive any
particular design.
Nail art canes and slices are polymer clay products that can be added to gel and acrylic nail art applications. All of my products
are hand made from 100% Premo artist's grade polymer clay, mainly due to it's durability and flexibility at room temperature after
curing. Scroll down to see my Nail Art Gallery for ideas on how to use my nail art products.
What are Nail Art Canes and Slices?
Nail Art Slices are sliced as thin as possible, a fraction of a millimeter thick. Nail Art Tips are hand sliced prior to curing,
and are as thin as possible, usually between 1/2 mm and 1 mm thick. Thickness ranges because slices and tips are hand sliced.
Designs run the entire thickness of the tip or slice, and can be filed or sanded down prior to nail application or after they have
been adhered to the nail.
How thick are Envy Nail Art Tips and Slices?
Nail Art Tips are very flexible at room temperature., and moreso when warmed slightly. Envy Nail Art Tips are naturally larger
in size in order to showcase the detail of my canework. While working with Nail Art Tips is a bit more challenging
than working with smaller slice counterparts, even thicker slices can be molded to the nail.
How flexible are Envy Nail Art Tips and Slices?
The design runs the entire thickness of the slice or tip. They can be trimmed with a sharp razor blade or small scissors, and
can be sanded lightly to even out thickness. Use a fine grit emory board for sanding, or 400-600 grit sandpaper. You
can file the tip or slice on the nail, or place them between two emory boards and grind the thickness down quickly.
My tips and slices are made as thin as possible.
